Core Services


Customer First is a Scottish Government sponsored programme developed in partnership with Scottish local authorities and managed, with the support of the Scottish Government , COSLA and SOLACE , under the direction of the Improvement Service.

It supports the principles of easier to access, better integrated, local services; effective collaboration across the public sector; better use of public resources; high standards of public service; and willingness to innovate and learn from others. 46 core council services have been identified as national priorities for improvement. Not all local authorities will develop electronic means of access to all these core services, as local priorities will determine programmes of development.

Customer First is also working with the Scottish Government to develop the OneScotland Portal , a signposting service that will provide citizens with a single, convenient point of access to all public services in Scotland. The East Ayrshire Council links pertaining to the 46 core services are listed below.
